The Experience of Being
Produced by An Grian‡n Theatre
How many times does it take for people not to see you before you start feeling invisible? How many times before you believe it too?
On her 60th birthday Cathy should be celebrating – but things go rapidly downhill when she goes shopping. “In the shop they didnt see me. They saw a warm cardigan and sensible shoes woman. An insignificant woman.”
The Experience of Being is a moving, empowering and darkly funny one-woman play about ageism and how to fight it. It is written and performed by Carol Moore from Bangor, who was recently awarded a Major Individual Artist Award from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
