Music Tour by bus
You may know that Bangor is the home town of Snow Patrol, Two Door Cinema Club and Foy Vance. But did you know that its the birth place of Eddie Izzard, Bobby Kildea of Belle and Sebastian and Derek Bell of the Chieftains? Or that The Kinks played Milano’s ballroom on Bangor seafront in 1966, and Thin Lizzy took a boat trip around the harbour before their 1974 show in the King’s Club? Or that the former Trident Bar in High Street was the birthplace of the Ulster punk music scene?
This 90 minute bus tour will take you around Bangor’s seafront and back waters, to the birth places and stomping grounds of its musical sons and daughters. Tour guide Paul Corken (ex-Bangor punk band The Doubt) will show you how Bangor has contributed more to the world of music than a town of its size has any right to.
