Old Crow Medicine Show (OCMS) pioneered a brave new brand of American roots music, injected with rock’n’roll attitude, that has spawned a whole genre. The quintet met in New York in 1998, writing material and honing a sound based on their experiences traveling city to city in a van and busking in the streets. Relentless touring, three great albums, and a major cult following led them to Nashville, appearing with Dolly Parton at the Grand Ole Opry, and touring with Merle Haggard.
