Iron & Wine
Iron and Wine is Sam Beam. Or, Sam Beam is Iron and Wine. Either way, he's a singer-songwriter of Gothic-styled Americana, signed to the Subpop label, whose recent album, The Shepherds Dog, received five star reviews and elevated him to cult status. He delivers heavy-weight songs in a delicious sun-kissed voice, creating a densely textured sonic treat. He also gets our Best Beard of the Festival award.
"Like quicksand, it's subtle, surprising, and utterly absorbing" - Q Magazine

Low Anthem
MOJO Breakthrough Act 2010
This alt-folk four piece from Rhode Island received major critical acclaim for their 2009 breakthrough album 'Oh my God, Charlie Darwin' on the Bella Union Label. Their mesmerising 'apocolyptic hymnals' fuse old world values with a new experimental mentality - there are twenty seven instruments credited to their album, including pump organ, zither and mallet.
"The Low Anthem could have sprung fully formed off a Fillmore poster, circa 1968: one part Dylan's erudition, one part Neil Young's hallucinatory visions, one part The Band's rootsy austerity, one part Leonard Cohen's apocalyptic melancholy" - UNCUT

Nathaniel Rateliff
Denver based Rateliff recently released a stunning debut album, In Memory of Loss. Produced by Brain Deck (Iron & Wine/Modest Mouse) it comes as no surprise that this record is incredible. Fresh from support tours with Laura Marling, The Fray and The Low Anthem, we are delighted to host the debut Irish show.
