Irish language broadcaster TG4 has commissioned a new nine part TV series, directed by Conor Byrne, that follows an assortment of interesting people on their journeys to learn a traditional instrument, and includes actor Adrian Dunbar, premiership footballer Andy Reid, and the Oscar winning English actor Jeremy Irons. Our very own Belfast playwright Marie Jones learned to play the “box” under the tutelage of Galway accordion maestro Mairtín O'Connor. The forty minute documentary of her six month musical journey will be screened today for a small number of lucky guests.
