Bríd Harper is a fiddle player of near mythical status in Ireland – she is as illusive as she is talented. She is revered both as a performer and as a teacher, and many of Ireland’s traditional musicians cite her as having been a major influence. Originally from Castlefin in County Donegal, Bríd now lives in Tyrone.
Martin Meehan hails from Manchester where he learnt flute from Michael McGoldrick. He moved to Armagh and learnt uilleann pipes at the Armagh Pipers Club, where he now teaches.
PJ McDonald made his name as a tin whistle player, learning from his late father, Hugh Pat McDonald, and from the many talented musicians around his native village of Donaghmore. He is now as well known for his superb traditional singing and guitar playing.
Open House is delighted to be hosting this rare live appearance from three of our finest northern musicians.
