The Carter Family meets the Ramones

The Hackensaw Boys see themselves as more of a musical collective than a band, with at least nine members listed on their website, and a varying number turning up to gigs (we’re expecting six or seven but you never know...) The band may, or may not, include on any given night upright bass, fiddles, banjos, guitars, harmonica, mandolin, mouth harp, charismo and dobro.

Several years of busking and relentless touring throughout the United States and Europe, supporting bands like Modest Mouse and the Flaming Lips, are starting to pay off for this maverick bunch of young bluegrass musicians from Charlottesville, Virginia. This is yet another Open House first for Ireland.
