The Jammy Award nominated Bluegrass Journey is a documentary film that features extended and intimately captured performances by the likes of the Del McCoury Band, Nickel Creek, Jerry Douglas, Peter Rowan, Tony Rice, Rhonda Vincent, The Lonesome River Band, Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass, and our own Artist-in-Residence, Tim O’Brien.
This affectionate film reveals breathtaking musical virtuosity, passionate and joyous audience dedication, and the rich artistry and spirit that infuse one of America’s great musical genres. Have a drink, enjoy the film, maybe even grab some lunch from the John Hewitt’s lovely menu, and treat yourself. It is Saturday after all.
Following the film, Artist-in-residence Tim O’Brien will be joined by local Bluegrass musicians Ivan Muirhead on guitar, Michael Ashe on banjo and Wilson Davies on double bass for a top-notch Bluegrass session.
