Belfast’s brand new folk club in this fine new venue presents, appropriately, a great new collaboration from three exciting musicians featuring twin fiddles plus guitar.
Siobhan Peoples comes from a family of fine musicians in County Clare, including her grandmother Kitty, who was a singer with the old Kilfenora Ceilí Band, and her father Tommy, legendary fiddle player and member of the Bothy Band. Siobhan also learnt fiddle from the great Frank Custy, and has become both a great player and a respected teacher, currently tutoring on the BA course in Irish Traditional Music and Dance at the University of Limerick.
Michelle O’Brien also comes from County Clare, learned fiddle from Frank Custy, the principal at her local primary school, and was taught fiddle by both Tommy and Siobhan Peoples. Michelle began playing at sessions from the age of 13 and is now an accomplished musician and teacher in her own right.
Paul McSherry hails from Belfast, and is a member of the renowned musical family, the McSherrys, playing with his siblings in many collaborations including the band Tamalin. He is the accompanist of choice for many fine traditional musicians, and has worked with the likes of Liam O'Flynn, Paddy Keenan, Paddy Glackin, Cahal Hayden and Michael McGoldrick. |
