Deiseal (rhymes with special) was one of those bands that burned very brightly for a short moment and then disappeared just as they were about to make the big time. In 1993 Cormac Breatnach (whistles), Niall O Callanain (bouzouki) and Paul O'Driscoll (double bass) joined forces to record one of the greatest and most innovative trad albums of all time The Long Long Note. Just three years later, as their second album was about to be released by STARC Records, the band split up following the untimely death of Alan Connaughton, the owner of STARC. And that’s where the story ends…
Until now. Ten years later, the original members of Deiseal come together for a special Open House reunion. Buy your tickets early, this may be your only chance to see them.
