Time 7.30pm:
Man in the Sand – 90 minute documentary film following Billy Bragg as he searches for the spirit of Woody Guthrie. Narrated by Woody’s daughter, Nora, it traces the opening of her father’s archive of unpublished works, and the subsequent making of the two Grammy nominated Mermaid Avenue albums by Billy and his cohorts Wilco and Natalie Merchant, as they write and record new tunes for these unpublished, rediscovered songs.

Time 9pm:
Singing Session with Joe Mulherne, Alan Burke, Rosie Stewart, Barry Kerr, Fergus O’Hare and Tim Eriksen among others. This transatlantic singing session will feature both folk and traditional songs and is in honour of the great American protest singer, hobo and folk hero, Woody Guthrie.
