Don’t miss the Belfast debut of this most excellent Americana/ Noir band - one of the best kept secrets in their genre. Their last two releases have been Uncut Magazine albums of the month, including the 2004 release Post To Wire, which was voted among the top five albums of the year. The 2005 release The Fitzgerald was similarly hailed as “another songwriting triumph, mindblowing”. As the UNCUT reviewer mused: “the thing that continues to baffle me about Richmond Fontaine is how such a great group could have remained for so long largely undiscovered - known only to a hip Americana cogniscenti, until last year’s Post To Wire turned them virtually overnight into Uncut favourites, their genius belatedly recognised, no longer a secret well-kept by a possessive cabal of hardcore fans.”

According to Tony Clayton-Lea of the Irish Times, Richmond Fontaine are, “without question, a miserable bunch of guys all the way from Portland, Oregon, and not a joke between them.” He dubs their recent release: “that most necessary fashion accessory - a nice little black number which tells sad and lonely stories of a disparate group of losers based in and around the confines of a drab hotel in a US party/gambling town. Just in case you think it’ll be doleful Americana all the way, however, be assured that Richmond Fontaine will also be rocking out in fine fashion. Hark! - we can hear the ringing guitars already.”
